Certifix offers secure and fast Live Scan fingerprinting for background checks required by the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI. Whether you’re applying for employment, licensing, or certification in California, our network of statewide locations makes it easy to get fingerprinted.
Simply bring your Request for Live Scan Service form to any of our California locations, or enroll online for faster check-in. If you’re located outside of California, we also offer an option to capture your fingerprints on an FD-258 fingerprint card for mail submission to the California DOJ.
Obtain the correct form from your employer or requesting agency. This form is required for all in-state fingerprinting.
Walk-in: Bring your printed form and valid ID to any California location.
Online: Enroll in advance and receive a token that allows for faster processing—your data will be pre-filled for the operator.
Our certified operator will scan your fingerprints electronically and submit them directly to the DOJ and/or FBI. No payment is collected at the location.
After submission, you'll receive an ATI (Applicant Tracking Identifier), which you can use to check the status of your background check online.

Your fingerprints will be captured and printed onto a standard FD-258 fingerprint card.
