Complete your application online with ease. Our system lets you securely enter your information and receive a QR code or token, which can be used at any of our nationwide locations—no paperwork required.
Your identity will be confirmed and your fingerprints captured using FBI-certified scanners. If resubmission is ever required, it's always provided at no additional cost.
Your fingerprints are either transmitted electronically to the appropriate state or federal agency, or printed and mailed to you on an FD-258 fingerprint card—ensuring timely and dependable delivery.
If you are located in California, you must bring a completed Request for Live Scan Service form to your appointment — Live Scan service providers in the state are not permitted to process your transaction without it. To avoid errors or delays, we strongly recommend that you contact your employer or the requesting agency to obtain the correct form.
For added convenience, you may enroll online and receive a token that allows you to visit any of our locations in California for faster processing.
If you are outside of California, you can still complete your fingerprinting by visiting one of our nationwide partner locations. Your fingerprints will be captured and printed onto an FD-258 fingerprint card, which can then be submitted to the appropriate agency.
If you are in Florida, you will need to obtain an ORI number from your employer or the requesting agency. Once you have the correct ORI number for your application type, you can either enroll online and visit a participating UPS Store location, or walk into one of our non-UPS Store locations without enrolling online.
All fingerprint submissions are electronically transmitted to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) or the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). You will receive a Transaction Control Number (TCN), which you can provide to your requesting agency so they can access your background check results.
If you are currently outside of Florida, you must enroll online before visiting one of our nationwide UPS Store locations to complete your Florida Live Scan.
If you are located in a state outside of California or Florida, you can still have your fingerprints captured at one of our nationwide locations. You will need to enroll online before visiting a location. Once your fingerprints are captured, they will be printed onto an FD-258 fingerprint card and mailed directly to you.
This service can be used for out-of-state applications where the requesting agency accepts fingerprint cards by mail. However, not all states or agencies accept fingerprint cards, so it is important that you verify with your requesting agency before enrolling.
FD-258 fingerprint cards may also be used for other purposes such as employment, licensing, immigration, or professional certification, depending on your needs.
You will need to enroll online before visiting one of our nationwide partner locations. We will capture your fingerprints and submit them directly to the FBI to request your National FBI Fingerprint-Based Background Check Report, also known as an Identity History Summary.
Once your submission is processed, you will receive an online access code to download and print your report. This report is intended for personal use. However, you may choose to share a copy with a third party, such as an employer, government agency, or licensing organization, if requested.

If you are located in Florida, you may walk into one of our in-state locations. However, you must have the correct ORI number from your employer or requesting agency.
We recommend that you enroll online before visiting a location to ensure your information is submitted accurately. Online enrollment is also required for all UPS Store locations listed on our website.
If you are outside of Florida, you can use any of our nationwide partner locations to capture your fingerprints for a Florida-based background check. This service requires online enrollment. After your fingerprints are submitted to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), you will receive a Transaction Control Number (TCN) to share with your requesting agency for background check access.
If you are in any other state and need a copy of your fingerprints, you can use our nationwide partner locations to complete the process. After enrolling online and being fingerprinted, your prints will be printed onto an FD-258 fingerprint card and mailed to you.
This service is commonly used for out-of-state licensing, employment, or other purposes where agencies accept fingerprint cards by mail. Be sure to verify with your requesting agency that they accept FD-258 cards before enrolling.
You can also request a personal FBI background check using our fingerprinting services. Start by enrolling online, then visit one of our nationwide partner locations to have your fingerprints captured.
Once your fingerprints are submitted to the FBI, you will receive an email to securely download and print your Identity History Summary Report (also known as a rap sheet). This report is for personal use, but you may share it with a third party—such as an employer or licensing authority—if needed.
In California, you can walk into a location with a printed Request for Live Scan Service form, and the operator will manually enter your details into the fingerprinting system. For faster service, you can enroll online, which allows the operator to download your transaction information directly. No payment is required at the location. After fingerprinting, you will be issued an ATI number to check the status of your background check online.
If you are outside of California, you can enroll online and visit one of our nationwide locations to have your fingerprints captured and printed onto an FD-258 card.
In Florida, you must provide your ORI number to the operator during your appointment. You may also enroll online to pre-fill your information and receive a QR code for check-in. Your fingerprints will be submitted to FDLE or AHCA depending on your application type. For AHCA, a photo will also be taken during the session.
If you’re outside of Florida, you can still visit one of our nationwide partner locations. Online enrollment is required in this case. After fingerprinting, you’ll receive a Transaction Control Number (TCN) by email, which you can provide to your requesting agency to retrieve your results.
For all other states, fingerprint submission is offered through our FD-258 fingerprint card service. Your fingerprints will be captured at one of our nationwide locations, printed onto an FD-258 card, and mailed to you. You must verify that your requesting agency accepts FD-258 cards before enrolling.
To use this service, simply enroll online and schedule your appointment at a participating location.
If you need a personal copy of your FBI background check, you can use our nationwide fingerprinting service. Begin by enrolling online, then visit your chosen location to have your fingerprints captured. We will electronically transmit your prints to the FBI.
You will not receive a physical fingerprint card, but once processed, you will get an email to download your official FBI Identity History Summary Report (Rap Sheet). This report is for personal use but may be shared with an employer or agency if needed.
