You can get fingerprinted at Certifix Live Scan locations throughout Michigan. We provide electronic fingerprint capture using Live Scan technology and offer FD-258 fingerprint card services that can be submitted to Michigan state agencies, licensing boards, and other requesting authorities.
Many Michigan state agencies and licensing boards accept FD-258 fingerprint cards. We capture your fingerprints electronically and professionally print them onto an official FD-258 fingerprint card that you can mail along with your application to the State of Michigan or your requesting agency. Because some agencies have specific submission requirements, we recommend confirming card acceptance with the agency before mailing.
Your fingerprints are captured electronically using Live Scan equipment to help reduce common issues such as smudges or incomplete prints. The fingerprints are then printed onto an official FD-258 fingerprint card. In most cases, the completed card is mailed to you after your appointment so you can submit it with your application. If a fingerprint card needs to be resubmitted, we offer free recapture and mailing of a replacement card.
Most fingerprinting appointments take approximately 10 to 15 minutes. This includes ID verification and electronic fingerprint capture. Processing times after submission depend on the Michigan agency or licensing board reviewing your application.

To verify your identity, please bring two forms of identification to your fingerprinting appointment. At least one ID must be from the primary ID list and must match your current legal name and date of birth. Additionally, at least one ID must show your current valid U.S. address.
