Yes. Washington allows fingerprint cards to be submitted by mail for certain background check and licensing requirements. FD-258 fingerprint cards are commonly used when electronic fingerprint submission is not available or when applicants are completing requirements for Washington agencies from outside the state.
Fingerprints are captured electronically using Live Scan equipment and printed onto an official FD-258 fingerprint card. In most cases, the completed card is mailed to you after your appointment so you can submit it with your application to the appropriate Washington agency or authorized recipient. If a fingerprint card needs to be resubmitted, we offer free recapture and mailing of a replacement card.
