Yes. Nevada allows applicants to submit FD-258 fingerprint cards by mail for certain background check and licensing requirements. Fingerprint cards are commonly used when electronic fingerprint submission is not available or when applicants are located outside Nevada.
Your fingerprints are captured electronically using Live Scan equipment to help reduce common issues such as smudges or incomplete prints. The fingerprints are then printed onto an official FD-258 fingerprint card. In most cases, the completed fingerprint card is mailed to you after your appointment so you can submit it with your application to the appropriate Nevada agency or authorized fingerprinting provider. If a fingerprint card needs to be resubmitted, we offer free recapture and mailing of a replacement FD-258 card.
